FIREBALL

A kart race for tiny round critters. Six tracks, split routes, ramps, item boxes and no guard rails. Every bump, fall and win shows on their faces.

Six tracks, three looks

One cup runs through all six: two laps each, then a trapdoor opens on the final lap and the whole field drops onto the next track. Tracks have three, four or five lanes, one is a figure eight with a bridge, and each look has its own theme tune.

Meet the critters

Six round little racers, each with their own silhouette and a badge on their back, since that's the side you see most. Their faces react to everything that happens on the track, and that's what makes the clips funny.

What goes in it

Kart racing with balls instead of karts. Ignite is gone: items cover that job now, and coins give a little extra top speed, like in Mario Kart.

What you do

Steer
Swipe between three lanes. Lane changes carry momentum, which is what makes bumping work.
Jump and trick
Swipe up over walls. Swipe again in the air off a ramp for a boost when you land.
Bump
Shove a rival a lane over. If they're on the edge, they go off.
Use items
Turbo, Shield, Rocket or Mega, which makes you giant for a few seconds. Players at the back get the better ones.

The track

Split routes
A shortcut with boost pads and pillars, or the safe line with items and coins.
Ramps and gaps
Big air over a hole in the track. Miss it and you lose time.
Bumpers
Pinball bumpers that ricochet you into each other.
Wider tracks
Three, four or five lanes, so there's room to bump.
Trapdoor drop
On the final lap the floor opens and everyone falls to the next map.

Critters

Faces that react
Dizzy, angry, scared, smug or cheering, depending on what just happened.
Look-backs
Get right behind a rival and they turn round to check on you.
Back badges
Each critter has a badge on its back, since that's what you see in a race.
Your face cam
Your own critter's face sits in the corner, reacting live.

Built for clips

Auto-clip
Knockouts, rocket hits and tricks get saved on their own.
Slow-mo knockouts
A short slow-down on every knockout, with a scream.
Vertical framing
Clips work at 9:16 without cropping. Try the toggle.
Sound
A theme tune per map plus cartoon sound effects, so clips work with the sound on.

Characters

DecidedCritters. Next step is proper character design: final shapes, names and a few signature animations each.

Looks

DecidedEmber Arcade, Neon Night, Candy Rush, one per map. More maps can come later as new cups.

Music

Your callThe tunes here are written in code, so they play in any browser. For produced tracks, ElevenLabs needs a paid plan (the music tool isn't on the free plan), or we brief a composer.

Engine for the real game

RecommendedGodot. Free, light, good on phones, and quick to prototype in. This browser version is for testing ideas, not for shipping.

Multiplayer in v1

RecommendedGhost races and bots first, real-time races once people keep coming back.
